Welcome to my new Saturday series! I'm not going to lie, I'm doing this for slightly selfish reasons but maybe, just maybe it will be informational and helpful for you as well. During my first trimester I had the worst food aversions. I mean I could not eat

anything

 except for crackers, granola bars, and occasionally pasta. It was not fun. As soon as my second trimester started my food aversions diminished almost completely (still cannot eat sandwich bread, lettuce, bananas, or meat) but I remained just as tired which meant I would not be cooking well-rounded meals all that often. I'm just about 15 weeks and I have more of a desire to bake/cook once again (

finally!!

). But I have to take it slow. And if I don't have things picked out ahead of time I will end up eating cheese and crackers as a meal. No joke; that's what I had for lunch yesterday and snack the day before.

Yesterday I decided that I need to 1)

eat healthier

, 2)

stop picking up take-out or going out to eat as often

, and 3)

plan ahead

in order to avoid unhealthy choices

. So I spent about an hour last evening preparing a meal plan for next week (Sunday-Saturday) as well as a detailed shopping list. Today I gathered [almost] all of my ingredients needed for the week so I have no excuses, everything is in my kitchen. No getting lazy. That's why I'm sharing this with you folks! I need you to keep my accountable! Next Saturday when I post the next week's menu I'll also report back on how I did following this week's menu, feel free to harass me if I completely failed (okay, be nice but you know what I mean). Central Market

 this morning for my menu (I'd show you what I picked up at Giant but that just sounds boring, fresh/local produce is much more exciting in my mind).

Don't worry, I went to Giant after Market to fill in the gaps. Oh, and I forgot to add my two lemons to the photo! And I have multiples of some of these items but obviously just didn't have enough room to photograph everything. The baby carrots are solely for snack purposes only, baby likes them so far; I dip 'em in ranch dressing or hummus,
