A Christmas Gathering

A fun casual Christmas-inspired dinner party menu

The weekend before Christmas I had three of my bestest friends over since everyone was in town for Christmas. Morgan, Avery, Emma, and I have known each other since 2001 when we started second grade and I moved into the school district. They were each

bridesmaids in my wedding

and despite the different life stages we are all at, we always make a point to get together when everyone is in town. I'm married and have a kid, Avery just got back from studying abroad in Bath, England and goes to Gettysburg University where she is her sorority's chapter president, Emma volunteered with Samaritan's Purse this summer and is still living around Lancaster and is working and attending school, and Morgan lives in Memphis, TN and is starting a tech company while finishing school. We're all in quite different phases of life and even though we're all doing things we liked to do when we were younger, we never imagined where we would be now, it's crazy!

I hosted an informal little dinner party and I was quite pleased with how our little table looked and all of the food turned out perfect. The recipes I used/based the food off of are:

Pomegranate Pear Walnut Salad

,

Crockpot Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin

,

Orange Glazed Brussels Sprouts and Butternut Squash

,

Garlic Rosemary Roasted Potatoes

, and

Cranberry Avocado Dip

. Then for dessert I made my

no bake chocolate cheesecake layer cups

but instead of cool whip layers in between, I made another batch of the cheesecake mixture but instead of chocolate chips, I used peanut butter chips. Guys, it was amazing. Like life changing amazing.

I totally meant to ask Seth to take a picture of us before he left to go see The Hobbit but I was having fun cooking and catching up and forgot all about a photo of us. So I fail. I'm actually a little upset that I forgot to take picture of the four of us because I don't know when all four of us will be in the area at the same time again! But we did have a lovely time catching up over some yummy food. Did you get to catch up with old friends over Christmas? Or host any little dinner parties?
