It is quite hectic on Thanksgiving Day, if you're making the meal. You have to time everything just right, make sure nothing over cooks or under cooks, and that you have room for everything in the oven, along with the turkey. You can save yourself some time and stress by making a few dishes ahead of time! Most dishes can be made the day before and reheated the day of or even cooked and put in the freezer until the big day. I found you a few recipes that are specifically made to be prepared ahead of time, that way you know that it will turn out just right.
Before we get to that, I thought I'd share a few of the Thanksgiving-y recipes I have here on Little City Adventures. The majority of my recipes are pies because I like to bake and I have a major sweet tooth. If you try any of my recipes, use #littlecitykitchen or #littlecitythanksgiving so I can see how it turned out for you!
My Thanksgiving recipes: Apple Pie with an Oatmeal Crust, Caramel Pecan Apple Pie, Dairy + Soy Free Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Potato Pie with a Pecan Crust and Toasted Marshmallows, Vegan Mashed Butternut Squash. The pies can all be made a day or two ahead of time and refrigerated. You can warm the apple pies up in the oven for a few minutes to make them extra delicious.
Now onto the make-ahead recipes.
